Dear Parents and Carers,

Many of you will have heard the story about Dolly Everett, who took her own life at 14 years of age due to persistent bullying by her peers.
At Northview State School, the health and wellbeing of our students, staff and community is of paramount importance. This week in our assembly, we spoke about making our school a better place by spreading kindness wherever possible by accepting people as they are and making sure they’re included at playtimes and in class.
We are encouraging our students to attend school in free dress on Friday. The theme is ‘This is me’ – a chance to celebrate the diversity in children’s interests, personalities, and backgrounds. As it mirrors the theme on https://dollysdream.org.au/, we are encouraging children to include something blue in their outfits. There is no cost to participate in this event.
Please remember that whatever children choose to wear, it needs to be Sun Safe if they are to go outside at playtime.
